Over the years we've heard a lot chatter about spoecialty Robusta, but never had the opportunity to sample any. That was until now.
This lot is from the island of Flores, Indonesia. We roiasted this anaerobic natural processed coffee for filter and enjoy notes of Candied Strawberry, Milk Chocolate and Cacao. Think strawberry roses chocolates and a cacoa texture on the finish. This really is something interesting.
Interestingly, this coffee does not suffer from astringency on the finish of the anaerobic natural Arabica lots we have tried, making this coffee good to go 10-14 days after roast.
The of Flores Island is 360 miles long, and is located 200 miles to the east of Bali. The terrain of Flores is rugged, with numerous active and inactive volcanoes. Ashes from these volcanoes have created especially fertile andosols, ideal for organic coffee production. Most of the production is grown under shade trees and wet processed at farm level.
Available as 150g whole bean, vac packed only.
